Welcome to the SCTCC Academic Advising Center! We are here to help students reach their academic goals.

Current SCTCC students are encouraged to schedule a phone, zoom, or in-person meeting through Starfish with their academic advisor. 

Want to complete your degree or pre-requisites early? The time is now to register for Summer 2022 semester courses!


Schedule a phone, zoom or in-person meeting with your advisor in March or early April to discuss Fall 2022 semester and get your Access Code. Register EARLY to get the courses you need at times you want. Fall 2022 registration begins March 23, 2022 - check when registration opens for you.

If you need assistance with scheduling an appointment:

Drop-in in-person sessions are available at the Academic Advising Center 1-312 between 8:30 am – 1:45 pm Monday-Friday. Students will meet with the advisor assigned to drop-in appointments that day. These are 15-minute appointments so if you feel you need more time or prefer Zoom or phone appointments, please schedule an appointment time as discussed above. 

New or returning SCTCC students will want to contact Admissions at to be enrolled or re-enrolled at SCTCC. Our Admissions page also have a lot of information.

After you're accepted to SCTCC, you will want to follow the instructions on your acceptance letter and complete eOrientation. Once finished with eOrientation, you will schedule a new or returning student appointment with Academic Advising. 

Academic advisors assist and empower students to take ownership of their educational plan.

Educational plans are reviewed at least once a semester and may include:

  • developing goals
  • sharing resources
  • offering guidance

The Academic Advising Center hires students with work study funding throughout the year. Please stop in and see if we are hiring.

If you:

  • are registered for 6+ credits
  • qualify for work study funding
  • have some experience in an office or customer service setting (not required, but a plus)
